Mosiacs of Inclusion:
disabled people and volunteers learning together

It is a Grundtvig Learning Partnership under the European Commission's Lifelong Learning Programme. It is the result of the cooperation of 4 organizations responsible for day centers, leisure time activities, parents’ work and advocacy dealing with persons with disability from Italy, Poland, Romania and Germany. The project gives to the staff, volunteers and disabled people a stage to share experience, discussing on the condition of people with disabilities in the different cities and countries, exchanging good practices and strategies for a real inclusion and offering them means and competences to play an active role in order to overcome the “missing pieces” in the mosaic of inclusion. This work is encouraged by the encounter between the social theme and artistic field through the practical making of mosaics and the visit to mosaics in the partner cities. The project participants will be involved in some local workshops and activities, and other joint activities and meetings realized during 4 mobility fluxes.

The project has the main objective to analyze and spread the limited possibilities of people with disabilities to exercise their rights as citizens and to choose their own lifestyle, finding suitable solutions and creating a learning opportunity, thanks to the active contribution of disabled people and volunteers. It will allow them  to have access to mobility opportunities (50 total mobilities for participants and 22 for staff) in four foreign European Countries getting to know new and different realities in the “mosaic of  inclusion”, removing any obstacle to the mobility for disabled people through the help of volunteers.
